Kurzweil was founded in 1982 by Ray Kurzweil and is known for digital synthesizers and pianos. The Kurzweil K250 (1984) was one of the first samplers with realistic piano sounds. The Kurzweil K2000 (1991) introduced V.A.S.T. synthesis and extensive sound design. The Kurzweil Forte (2014) set new standards in high-end stage pianos.
