Ensoniq was founded in 1982 and introduced innovative samplers and synthesizers. The Mirage (1985) was one of the first affordable samplers with a warm 8-bit sound. The ESQ-1 (1986) combined digital waveforms with analog filters. The Ensoniq ASR-10 (1992) became one of the most versatile samplers of its time.
