Open Labs was founded in 2003 and specialized in hybrid music workstations. The Open Labs Neko (2005) combined PC technology with an integrated touchscreen and synthesizer software. The Open Labs Miko (2007) was a compact version featuring powerful sound processing. The Open Labs SoundSlate (2010) offered a compact rack version for studio use.
